BLACKSBURG – After an 11-3 regular season and a No. 9 national ranking in the final NWCA Coaches Poll, Virginia Tech wrestling begins the postseason on Sunday at the ACC Championship in Pittsburgh, Penn.
The Hokies, who finished the ACC season with a 2-3 record, will look to capture their eighth ACC Championship on Sunday. Tech has won the ACC Tournament title four times and the dual meet title three times.

Hokies set for Postseason
- No. 9 Virginia Tech heads to Pittsburgh for the ACC Championship on Sunday.
- The Hokies finished with three wrestlers in the final InterMat rankings released on February 25.
- Hunter Bolen, ranked No. 1 by InterMat, is the 1 seed at 184 pounds at the ACC Championship.
- Freshman Bryce Andonian is the 2 seed at 149 pounds. He's looking to avenge his only ACC loss of the season to 1 seed Austin O'Connor of North Carolina.
Hunter Bolen looking for first ACC title
- Bolen, the 1 seed at 184 pounds, is searching for his first ACC title after finishing third at the 2018 ACC Championship.
- The Christiansburg, Va. native went 22-2 this season and 12-1 in duals this season. His only loss of the dual and ACC season came to Pitt's Nino Bonaccorsi, who is the 3 seed Sunday.
- Bolen came in third at the Cliff Keen Invitational in December where he went 5-1, with wins over then-No. 3 Taylor Lujan and No. 5 Lou Deprez.
David McFadden set on No. 3
- After a title at 174 pounds last season and one at 165 pounds in 2018, David McFadden is searching for his third ACC Championship in as many seasons.
- McFadden, who went 19-4 this season, is the 3 seed in the 165-pound bracket.
- The fifth-year senior went 10-3 in duals this season and 2-2 in ACC play.
- He is 105-21 in his career at Virginia Tech.
Bryce Andonian bursts on scene for Hokies
- After starting the year as a redshirt, Bryce Andonian has been a force for the Hokies since joining the starting ranks.
- Andonian is 17-5 overall with an 8-3 dual record, including 4-1 in the ACC. He is tied with Mitch Moore for the team lead in falls with six.
- The freshman is the 2 seed at 149 pounds. His only ACC loss of the season came to UNC's Austin O'Connor, who's seeded first.
