GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech redshirt junior B.C. LaPrade has been named ACC Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
This is the third time LaPrade has been named wrestler of the week by the ACC. He's earned the award in each of the past two seasons.
LaPrade, now ranked 18th in the country at 157 pounds by Intermat, helped Tech to its 29-10 upset victory of No. 9 Missouri with a sudden victory decision over No. 16 Jarrett Jacques. The two were tied 1-1 before LaPrade scored a takedown in the final seconds of the first sudden victory overtime period to give the Hokies their first points of the day.
No. 11 Virginia Tech returns to action Sunday at 1 p.m. against No. 21 Northwestern at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.
