Manoff qualifies for Junior World Championships during U.S. Nationals

STANFORD, Calif. - Rising sophomore Blake Manoff qualified for the FINA World Junior Championships while competing this past weekend at the Phillips 66 U.S. Nationals at Stanford Avery Aquatic Center. 

Manoff turned in a 52.70 in the 100 fly, knocking close to two seconds off his previous time of 54.61. Junior Worlds are slated for Aug. 20-25 in Budapest, Hungary.

STANFORD, Calif.
- Rising sophomore Keith Myburgh hit an Olympic trials qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke during the second day of competition at the Phillips 66 U.S. Nationals at Stanford Avery Aquatic Center. 

HIGHLIGHTS 
- Myburgh hits the Olympic trials qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke, recording a time of 2:16.52. He is over a second under the trials' mark of 2:17.89. In addition, Myburgh improved on his own time of 2:19.94. 
- Blake Manoff knocked almost three seconds off his 200 freestyle time, finishing with a 1:51.00.

STANFORD, Calif.
- With eight athletes competing, the Virginia Tech men's and women's swim teams got off to a strong start on Wednesday at the Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships at Stanford Avery Aquatic Center. 

HIGHLIGHTS 
- Manoff swam a 1:59.12 in the 200 fly to finish 16th overall. He cut his previous time of 2:01.51.
- Joelle Vereb improved in the 100 free from 56.63 to 57.95.
- Lane Stone knocked time off in the 200 back, going from 2:04.29 to 2:03.24.
- Myburgh topped his season best by going 2:02.70 (down from 2:04.10) in a time trial of the 200 fly.
