BLACKSBURG – Seven alumni, current Hokie Rachel Baxter, and assistant coach Willy Fink will compete at the USA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, July 25-28
The four-day meet will take place on the campus of Drake at Drake Stadium and will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Gold, NBC Sports Network and NBC.
The sprinting events will be represented by alums Queen (Harrrison) Claye (Nike) and Cristi Castlin (Nike) in the 100 hurdles.
The middle-distance events will see alumni Rachel Pocratsky, Hanna Green (NIKE / NIKE OTCE)
and Drew Piazza (NIKE / NIKE OTCE) compete in the 800 as Vincent Ciattei (NIKE / NIKE OTCE) and Patrick Joseph will run in the 1,500.
In the long-distance events, Thomas Curtin (Saucony / Freedom Track Club)
and Fink will run in the 5K with Fink also running in the 10K.
Representing the field events will be Baxter and Deakin Volz as the duo will compete in the pole vault.
