CHARLOTTESVILLE – With the hopes of winning a second ACC outdoor title in three years on the men's and women's side, the Virginia Tech Track and field teams will travel to Virginia's campus for the ACC Outdoor Championships.
Action begins on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET with the Decathlon at Lannigan Field. This marks the first time that Virginia will serve as the host school for the ACC Outdoor Championships since 2012, which was a great year for the Hokies as the men's team won the first ACC Outdoor Championship in program history.
All five disciplines will be heading to the Charlottesville, Virginia, as Eszter Bajnok (long jump, triple jump), Rachel Pocratsky (800, 1,500), Peter Seufer (10,000) and Emma Thor (hammer throw) will look to defend their titles.
The ACC Network Extra will live stream the action, with former Olympic decathlon gold medalist Dan O'Brien serving as color analyst. He will be joined by veteran ESPN play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney, distance race analyst David Mitchell with Melanie Newman serving as the sideline reporter.
ACC Network Extra will bring live action Thursday and Friday beginning at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday's finals from 4 p.m. until the meet's conclusion.

The last time out, the Hokies collected three event titles at the Liberty Twilight. Matthias Cannon won the first event title of his career with his time of 3:47.95 in the 1,500-meter run. Imagine Patterson crossed the finish line in 1:01.78 in the 400-meter hurdles, marking her first event title of the outdoor season. Kayla Richardson won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her time of 10:56.94, marking her first event title of the year.
Nationally, the Hokies have seven student-athletes who have times and marks that rank in the top 25. Pavla Kuklova and Emma Thor rank 16th and 18th in the hammer throw, respectively, while Eszter Bajnok is 23rd in the triple jump, Rachel Pocratsky is 17th in the 800, and Rachel Baxter owns the No. 3 mark in the pole vault.
On the men's side, Deakin Volz is tied for 18th in the pole vault, while Jacory Patterson has the owns the No. 10 time in the 400.
Among ACC student-athletes, the Hokies own 33 times and marks that rank in the top 10 of the league.
