BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech track and field teams will split up for the third time this season as they will head to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Tennessee Relays and San Diego, California for the Triton Invitational.
 
The throwers will be the only group heading to the Triton Invitational, while the sprints/hurdles, distance, pole vault and jumps/multi-events groups will head to the Tennessee Relays.
 
The Tennessee Relays will be live streamed Friday and Saturday on the SEC Network +, available on your computer and phone via the Watch ESPN app, while the Triton Invitational will be streamed Saturday on UCSDTritons.tv.
 
The Tech women remained at No. 20 in this week's outdoor United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) TFRI Ranking Index.

The Hokies are coming off a light weekend as the Jumps group competed at Georgia's Spec Towns Invitational. Eszter Bajnok turned in the lone first-place finish (triple jump), while Donovan Louis entered the record book when he leaped 7.17 meters (23 feet, 6.25 inches) in the long jump for the 10th best mark in program history.
 
The Hokies have seven student-athletes who have times and marks that rank across the nation in the top 50. Pavla Kuklova and Emma Thor rank 14th and 23rd in the hammer throw, While Eszter Bajnok owns the 14th best mark in the triple jump.
 
On the men's side, Cole Beck has the 35th best time in the 100-meter dash, Tyson Jones has the 31st best throw in the shot Deakin Volz is tied for 13th in the pole vault and Jacory Patterson owns the fourth-fastest time in the 400-meter dash.
