The Hokies are 14-67 all-time against the Tar Heels … Tech has won the last meeting, 80-69, in Cassell Coliseum on Jan. 22, 2018, the only meeting between the schools last season … Tech is 5-31 on the road against UNC and 1-6 in the Smith Center … Tech is 1-3 against Carolina under Buzz Williams … Tech is 4-12 against UNC in ACC regular season games and 0-2 in ACC Tournament games … This is the first time that Virginia Tech has faced North Carolina when the Hokies have been nationally-ranked.

In the win over Notre Dame, Justin Robinson moved past Jamon Gordon into third place in career assists at Virginia Tech … He and Gordon, along with Bimbo Coles and Malcolm Delaney, are the only Virginia Tech players with 500 career assists … He now has 534 career assists and trails Delaney by nine assists for second place and Coles by 13 assists for first place on the all-time list.
