Tech opened its 26th season of women's soccer at the school with a pair of draws against San Diego, Friday, and then-No. 22 Georgetown. The Sunday match against the Hoyas was the 500th match in school history. In those first 500 games, Tech held a 247-210-43 overall record.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Virginia Tech football program will host Fan Appreciation Day. The event allows fans to get autographs from their favorite student-athletes and select coaches, and other entertainment is expected to be provided for young children. The event ends promptly at 4:30 p.m., with autograph lines closing at 4:15 p.m. More details on the event will be released in early August. [Full Preview]

The Virginia Tech men's soccer team will travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia for the opening weekend of the 2018 season to compete in the JMU Invitational at Sentara Park. Friday's contest pits the Hokies against Air Force, a team Tech knocked out of the NCAA Tournament in 2017 at Thompson Field 2-0.Sunday afternoon, the Hokies will face Gardner-Webb from the Big South conference. [Full Preview]

The Hokies open the season on the road in a tournament at Charlotte. Under second year head coach Jill Wilson, Virginia Tech has one of the youngest squads in the ACC with 11 underclassmen.
