BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech wrestling team will have multiple competitors at this year's Hokie Open set for Sunday at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and wrestling will begin at 9 a.m.

KEY WRESTLERS FOR TECH
- Returning NCAA qualifiers Kyle Norstrem, Ryan Blees and Zack Zavatsky will all be in action on Sunday for the Hokies.
- Norstrem and Blees were both first-time qualifiers while Zavatsky earned All-American honors for the first time in three trips to nationals last season where he placed sixth in at 184 pounds.
- Zavatsky enter his senior season looking to become the 14th four-time NCAA qualifier in program history.
- Korbin Myers, a two-time national qualifier and two-time EWL champion at Edinboro, will also be making his first appearance for the Hokies.
- After going 28-2 in his redshirt season, Mekhi Lewis will wrestle his first official matches at Virginia Tech this Sunday.
- David McFadden will not wrestle for the Hokies until they compete in the Cliff Keen Invitational later this month while he trains in freestyle for the U23 World Championships in Romania from Nov. 12-18.
