BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech is set to host Penn State and Ohio State this weekend for their first two-day, tri-meet of the season, and second home contest at the ChristiansburgAquatic Center. The men's team sits at a 1-0 on the season while the women are looking for their first win.

THE HOKIES
The men's team defeated Duke in their home-opener 178.5-121.5 by recording wins in 10 of the 18 scoring events while the women fell to the No. 22 ranked Blue Devils. Freshmen Brendan Doss, Blake Manoff, Dylan Eichberg, Keith Myburgh, Anna Landon and TeaganMoravekall made their debut as Hokiesby scoring points in their respective events. Returners Jake Lamparellaand Norbert Szabosnagged top finishes for the men while Joelle Verebclaimed first in the 100 breaststroke and RekaGyorgyin the 200 IM for the women. Ben Schieslwon ACC Diver of the Week after winning on the 1-meter.
THE BUCKEYES
Ohio State began their season in a contest with Louisville and Texas A&M. The No.16 men's team lead the competitors in the first night of competition, while the No. 17 women's team held their own against No. 5 Texas A&M; Louisville did not send a complete women's team, so they were not included in the scoring but they did compete. At the conclusion of the weekend, the men defeated both Louisville and Texas A&M to move up one spot in the CSCAACoaching polls, while the women fell to Texas A&M on Saturday.
THE NITTANY LIONS
Both the men and women's Penn State Swimming and Diving Team hosted George Washington in their season home-opener and dominated the field. In a 196-99 victory, the men nearly swept the board with top scores in all events except the 200 backstroke while the women held a 183-109 triumph over GW by posting top times in all events. The men and women each received a nomination for the Big Ten's Freshman and Swimmer of the Week following the contest.
