Women’s tennis set to host Hokie Fall Invitational

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women's tennis team will be hosting the Hokie Fall Invite Friday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.

THE HOKIES
Nika Kozar, Samantha Gillas, Shene Disbergen, Dori Mesmer, Emily Pence, Jade Woo, Caletha Vick and Annie Clark are all representing the Hokies in the singles flights. Disbergen and Gillas will partner up for the doubles as well as Clark and Pence who both received a first round bye. They will take the court Friday at 10 a.m. Mesmer and Woo will begin their doubles match at 9 a.m. on Friday against Iowa State. 

Vick will be making her collegiate debut while Nika Kozar is set to take the court for the first time in the 2018-19 season. Disbergen, Clark and Mesmer were all on the court last weekend at the Big 5 Challenge. Disbergen claimed a trio of wins and Clark picked up her first as a Hokie. 

THE FIELD
Athletes from Appalachian State, Bluefield State, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Iowa State, James Madison, Liberty, Marshall, Penn State, Radford, VCU and West Virginia will be in attendance.

Flights are broken up by Ut Prosim, Honor, Leadership and Duty for the singles while the doubles flights are titled Brotherhood and Loyalty. These are Virginia Tech's seven core values that are represented by the iconic Pylons located at the center of campus.
