HOKIES RENEW SERIES WITH ECU
• Virginia Tech (No. 13 AP/No. 11 USA Today Coaches) is back at Lane Stadium this weekend to face East Carolina. Virginia Tech is coming off a 62-17 win last Saturday vs. William & Mary (9/8).
• The Hokies are on the cusp of the top 10 in the AP Poll. The last time Tech was in the top 10 was entering the 2011 ACC Championship Game when they were ranked fifth (12/3/11).
• The Pirates registered a 41-19 win vs. North Carolina (9/8), pulling away from the Tar Heels after leading 21-19 at the half.
• Tech is 11-2 at home under head coach Justin Fuente, including a 5-0 mark vs. non-conference foes. The Hokies won their final three home games of 2017 and are 5-1 overall in September games at Lane under Fuente.
• ECU is 7-19 under Scottie Montgomery since taking over as the Pirates' head coach in 2016.

DOMINATE THEIR STATE
•  Tech owns a 6-0 record against teams from the state of North Carolina under Fuente.
•  A total of 14 players on the current Virginia Tech roster hail from the state of North Carolina.
•  Tech owns a combined 31-7 record in ACC play against teams from the state of North Carolina: 12-2 vs. Duke, 11-3 vs. UNC, 4-1 vs. NC State and 4-1 vs. Wake Forest.

HOKIES HOPE TO REPEAT HISTORY VS. ECU
•  CB Greg Stroman had an 87-yard punt return TD in Frank Beamer's No. 25 jersey vs. East Carolina (9/24/16). Tech also recorded a safety on special teams.
•  WR Cam Phillips set a Tech single-game record with 14 receptions at ECU (9/16/17), posting 189 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
•  ECU led last year by a 17-7 count before Tech scored 57 unanswered points. QB Josh Jackson set single-game highs with 372 passing yards and five TD passes in the contest.

POUND IT ON THE GROUND
• The Hokies are averaging 208.5 rushing ypg after two games.
• Tech racked up 305 rushing yards in a 62-17 win vs. William & Mary (9/8), the best total of the Fuente era and the most accumulated by Tech since producing 308 vs. Western Michigan (9/27/14).
• In last week's win, Tech had three QBs rush for a TD in a game for the first time in program history - Josh Jackson (eight yards), Ryan Willis (seven yards) and Hendon Hooker (69 yards).
• Tech averaged 6.6 yards per carry vs. W&M (9/8), the highest single-game rushing average by Tech since going for a 7.3 yards per carry clip vs. Furman (9/12/15) - 41 carries for 299 yards.
• Tech's seven rushing touchdowns vs. W&M (9/8) were one shy of the school single-game record of eight vs. Akron (10/14/95).
