BLACKSBURG - Former Tech CB Adonis Alexander was selected by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft conducted today. Alexander becomes the third member of last season's squad to be drafted by the Redskins this season, joining DT Tim Settle and CB Greg Stroman. The Redskins begin camp in Richmond, Virginia on July 26. The Charlotte native saw duty in 34 career games for the Hokies, registering seven interceptions, 91 tackles (56 solo), 17 passes defensed, a sack and a forced fumble.

Here are a few other tidbits that should be of interest to Tech fans:

  • We've refreshed our online roster in preparation for the 2018 season. Check it out: vthoki.es/18Roster

  • We'll have wall-to-wall coverage of the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte on Wednesday, July 18. Coach Fuente will be joined by QB Josh Jackson and DL Ricky Walker as the media day festivities get underway. We'll have all the behind-the-scenes action as all three talk about the upcoming season. Jon Laaser, Mike Burnop, Jimmy Robertson and our HokieVision crew will be on site to provide insight and analysis, while the @VT_Football Twitter feed will have a wire-to-wire live thread of the day's events.

  • Coach Fuente and selected members of the team (coaches and players) are tentatively scheduled to conduct a pre-camp press conference in Blacksburg on August 2 to preview the upcoming season. More details will be provided once finalized.

  • The team will report on Saturday, August 4 with preseason practice beginning on Sunday, August 5.

  • Fan Appreciation Day is set for Sunday, August 26. One of the most popular dates on the calendar for Hokie Nation, the best news is that the cost is free to meet the team and get autographs! Complete details here: vthoki.es/18FB-FD

Tyrod Takes Paris
Before the Browns open training camp in Berea, Ohio on July 26, our very own Tyrod Taylor took an excursion to Paris where he saw the sights and took part in Paris Fashion Week festivities. We'll have full coverage of the quarterback competition at Browns camp, as well as the travails of the squad on HBO's Hard Knocks. Here's a cool look at Tyrod and his travels abroad.
