BLACKSBURG – Following the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, three Hokies will represent Virginia Tech track and field at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, from Thursday-Sunday.
The four-day meet will take place on the campus of Drake at Drake Stadium and will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Gold, NBC Sports Network and NBC. For more on the championships, click here.
Distance runner Vincent Ciattei will compete in the 1,500-meter race, Greg Chiles will run in the 400-meter hurdles and Deakin Volz will go at it in the pole vault.
Ciattei and Volz are coming off first-team All-America performances in Eugene, Oregon, while Chiles was tabbed second-team All-American just two weeks ago.

Four alums will be competing at the meet, too, as 800 runners and school record holders Hanna Green (Nike OTCE) and Drew Piazza will run, Thomas Curtin (Saucony/Freedom Track Club) will go in the 5,000 and 2010 Bowerman award winner Queen Harrison (ASICS) will run in the 100-meter hurdles.
The last time out at the USATF Championships, Piazza finished fifth in the 800 in Sacramento.
