BLACKSBURG – Senior WR Cam Phillips was named to the Sporting News Midseason All-American Team. Sporting News is one of the five outlets used to determine consensus All-Americans.
The Laurel, Maryland native is on the verge of breaking two career Virginia Tech receiving records. His 267 receptions rank second in VT history, needing four to pass Isaiah Ford (270). Phillips’ 2,671 career receiving yards are third in the Tech record book, needing 297 more to pass Ford (2,967). He has also caught a pass in a school-record 33 straight games.

Phillips has had a great first half of the season amassing 42 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns. He currently ranks second in the ACC with yards per game at 101.3. He also set a career high and VT single-game record of 14 receptions at East Carolina.

The ACC also announced that Tech’s contest vs. Duke on Oct. 28 will kick off at 7:20 p.m.
