Hokies travel to ACC Championship

The Virginia Tech women’s golf team will compete in the 2017 ACC Women’s Golf Championship, to be played April 13-15 at The Reserve Golf Club in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina.

Entering The ACC Championship

This is the Hokies’ second appearance in the ACC Women’s Golf Championship ... The Hokies will start the same line-up as last year’s event.

A Change of Venue

The 2017 ACC Women’s Golf Championship will be played this week at The Reserve Golf Club in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina ... The event was originally scheduled to be played at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, but was moved following the passing of the HB2 law in North Carolina.

The Hokies are Strong in the Classroom

The Virginia Tech women’s golf team is really rolling when it comes to the classroom ... The team had a 3.52 GPA in the Fall 2016 semester, best among all 22 sports at Virginia Tech ... Their 3.36 cumulative GPA is fourth best on campus ... All 10 student-athletes made the AD Honor Roll (semester over 3.00) and four of the 10 student-athletes made Dean’s List (semester over 3.40).

Tech’s Top Athletics Honor

Virginia Tech women’s golfer Elizabeth Bose has been named the 2016-17 Skelton Award for Academic Excellence ... This is the highest academic honor awarded to Virginia Tech student-athletes ... She is the first women’s golfer to earn the honor.

The Hokies Last Season in the ACC Championship

Virginia Tech made its inaugural appearance in the ACC Women’s Golf Championship last season ... The team finished 12th overall in the event played at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Two Years In

This is the Hokies’ second season of intercollegiate action in the sport of women’s golf ... Tech announced the formation of the program on May 13, 2013 and announced the hiring of Carol Robertson as the first head coach of the program on July 8, 2013.
