Hokie ClubINDIANAPOLIS - The Virginia Tech women’s swimmers and divers turned in many strong performances as the H2Okies wrapped up the second day of action at the NCAA Championships on Thursday evening.
The 400 medley relay comprised of senior Fiona Donnelly, junior Kelly Henry, junior Adriana Grabski and junior Klaudia Nazieblo swam a 3:34.15, faster than the time they registered at ACC Championships. Down the stretch, Donnelly turned in a 52.42 split in the third leg and Grabski swam a 48.42, the fastest split of the group, in the final leg.
After breaking her own record in the 200 free last night in the 800 free relay, senior Jessica Hespeler swam a 4:41.24 in the 500 free. Freshman Reka Gyorgy, the reigning ACC champion in the 400 IM who’s competing in her first NCAA Championships, poste a time of 1:57.90 in the 200 IM.
In diving, sophomore Ashlynn Peters scored a 250.50 in the one meter event and will compete in the three meter springboard tomorrow.
The 400 IM prelims will kick off Friday’s action where Gyorgy is seeded ninth.
