BLACKSBURG - The sixth-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling squad heads out on the road this weekend to wrap up the dual meet portion of 2015, taking on South Dakota State on Saturday and North Dakota State on Sunday.
The Hokies are coming off a 21-15 loss to the top-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. Second-ranked Ty Walz won by forfeit and three other Tech grapplers brought home victories. Third-ranked Joey Dance earned the first of three upsets on the day, taking down his second-ranked opponent in three overtime rounds. Redshirt freshman Solomon Chishko enters the rankings at #10 this week after defeating then-No. 2 Jimmy Gulibon 3-1. Freshman David McFadden, now ranked 20th at 165, earned his second dual meet victory of his rookie campaign with a takedown 10-8 come-from-behind, sudden victory overtime win.
