Tyler Graff

Director of Performance

Four-time NCAA All-American and former U.S. National Team member Tyler Graff enters his second season as Virginia Tech’s director of performance.

A resident athlete with the Southeast Regional Training Center, Graff won the gold medal at the Henri Deglane Challenge and placed second at the Bill Farrell Memorial Open this past season with the SERTC. His work in the wrestling room helped the Hokies win their second straight ACC championship and their sixth consecutive top 10 finish at the NCAA Championships in 2018.

At Wisconsin, Graff registered a career record of 128-25, was the 133-pound NCAA runner-up in 2014 and never finished lower than fifth in the country in four seasons. Graff wrestled for current Tech assistant coach Jared Frayer at Wisconsin where the two helped lead the Badgers to consecutive top 10 finishes in 2010 and 2011.

In freestyle, Graff placed third at Olympic Trials in 2012 and 2016 and was a runner-up at the 2016 U.S. World Team Trials. He took first at the 2017 Pan American championships and is a two-time Dave Schulz Memorial champion. Graff won his first of three University Nationals championships in 2010 and was a Junior World Team Member in 2007.

Graff joins Frayer and assistant coach Frank Molinaro as Hokies that have made a National Team. Graff was also a four-time Colorado high school state champion and compiled a 162-1 record.
