Research Associate, Sports Medicine - Concussion Research Coordinator

Responsibilities: Taylor is the concussion research coordinator for VT Athletics under the NCAA-DoD CARE Consortium.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Taylor attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut where she graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. While at SHU, Taylor was the president of the Student Athletic Training Club and worked with the football, women’s rugby, men’s volleyball, and track and field team. During her junior year is when she began focusing on concussion research. Taylor was a research assistant under Dr. Theresa Miyashita focusing on sub-concussive impacts in men’s lacrosse athletes. After graduating from SHU, Taylor attended graduate school at the University of Florida. While at UF, Taylor was a graduate assistant outreach athletic trainer. In addition to her graduate assistantship, Taylor was a teaching assistant for “Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries” which is an undergraduate-level class for future health care professionals. 
 
Education: Sacred Heart University, 2016 (BS in Athletic Training;) University of Florida, 2018 (MS in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology)
 
Of Note: Taylor proudly became a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association in 2016. She is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professions.
 
Personal: Born and raised in Kingston, NY, Taylor now resides in Blacksburg, VA. She enjoys going to sporting events and vacationing at the beach in her spare time.
