Responsibilities: Stevenson manages the day-to-day presence of the athletics department across web, mobile app, SMS and social media platforms by providing leadership, strategy and decision-making in support of the department’s overarching goals and strategic vision. He also oversees Virginia Tech Athletics’ digital advertising strategy and budget, while elevating sponsorship opportunities across verticals.

At Virginia Tech: Stevenson began managing both the Virginia Tech Athletics and football social media accounts when he first arrived on campus, implementing new strategies to enhance both profiles significantly. He then began transitioning into more of a focus on managing hokiesports.com, from writing articles to optimizing content in certain locations, to increasing the profile of the HokieSports app through content management and revenue generation.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Stevenson worked for the Cleveland Browns as its social media coordinator for two years, managing the team’s social media content calendar and creating brand campaigns aimed towards driving revenue and fan engagement. He also executed digital advertising and reported on KPIs and campaign effectiveness.
Prior to his time with the Browns, Stevenson wrote for Sports Illustrated for two years, writing editorial content about the Browns while utilizing search engine optimization marketing techniques to increase viewership. He also worked for Audacy, working as a national sales assistant and serving as a middle man to clients regarding digital orders, contracts, commercial air time, invoices and more.
Education: San Francisco State, 2019 (B.A. in broadcast and electronic communication arts); Moreno Valley, 2017 (A.A. in communication, media and languages; social and behavioral studies; communication studies and humanities, philosophy and arts).
