Virginia Tech women’s basketball head coach Megan Duffy tabbed Meghin Williams as the program’s assistant athletics director, chief of staff on April 26, 2024. Williams has extensive experience in collegiate athletics, from her time as an athlete to operations experience in Division I.
At Tech, her responsibilities will include donor relations, NIL activities, budgeting, student-athlete engagement and will also assist Coach Duffy with her personal schedule.
From 2019 to 2022, she served as the assistant to the athletic director and director of basketball operations with the University of North Carolina women’s basketball program.
Prior to her time in Chapel Hill, Williams spent the 2018-19 school year as an assistant director for internal operations at UNCG.
She spent two years as Princeton's director of women's basketball operations and the Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament both seasons after winning the Ivy League's regular season and tournament titles.
Most recently, Williams has provided strategic planning, executive leadership coaching and organizational efficiency assessments in collegiate athletics through Beyond the Bench Consulting.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Williams helped the Cornhuskers to two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances during her playing career, from 2009-13. She earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting in 2014.
Williams served as a student assistant at Nebraska during the 2013-14 season. She was selected to participate in the "So You Want to be a Coach" program at that year’s Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National Convention.
She spent two seasons as a graduate assistant manager at Nebraska while earning her master's degree in education and administration.
