Job responsibilities: Maddie is a Resident Athletic Trainer responsible for Virginia Tech Cheerleading and HighTechs. 

Joined VT Athletics Staff (full time): 2021

Prior to Virginia Tech: Maddie comes to Virginia Tech after graduating with honors from James Madison University. During her time there, she completed clinical experience with JMU Football, Broadway High School, Eastern Mennonite University, and JMU Women’s Volleyball. She completed an Honors Research project titled The Effects of Sport Specialization on Lower Extremity Function in April 2021, which was preliminarily presented at the VATA Student Symposium in January 2021.

Education: James Madison University, 2021 (BS in Athletic Training, minor in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies), Virginia Tech, 2023 (MS in Advanced Nutrition and Physical Activity)

Of Note: She has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2019 and served as the Planning Committee Secretary for the 2021 Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association Student Symposium. She was also a four-year Madison Award for Academic Excellence recipient.

Personal: Maddie is originally from Leesburg, VA and currently resides in Blacksburg. She enjoys discovering new coffee shops, spending time with friends and family, and going to the beach.
