Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2026
Prior to Virginia Tech: Mark “Mac” Chatman II joined Virginia Tech Athletics in 2026 as an Assistant Football Equipment Services staff member. Prior to joining the Hokies, Chatman served as the Director of Equipment at the University of West Florida from 2025 to 2026, overseeing football equipment and facility operations, team travel logistics, recruiting support, and student staff. From 2024 to 2025, he worked as a Seasonal Equipment Manager for the Chicago Bears, assisting with practice and game-day operations, equipment maintenance, and player readiness.
He previously completed a summer camp internship with the Bears in 2023, supporting equipment inventory, uniform maintenance, and team logistics. In 2022, Chatman gained additional experience as an Equipment Manager Summer Camp Intern with the New Orleans Saints, assisting with laundry operations, helmet maintenance, and player safety. All Achieved while doing undergraduate studies as a student manager at Alcorn State University.
