Lauryn McDaniels

Coordinator, Student-Athlete Development
Responsibilities: McDaniels supports the planning, promotion, and execution of programs within the Office of Student-Athlete Development. She coordinates logistics and operations for initiatives focused on personal, career, and leadership development — including community outreach opportunities, relationship violence education, mental health programming, and career development events.

Prior to VT:  In 2024 McDaniels was an NBA x HBCU Fellow at the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She also gained experience as a Student-Athlete Development Intern at Florida State University and as an Intern at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in there Basketball Division.

Education: Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, 2022 (B.S., Public Relations); Florida State University, 2024 (M.S., Sport Management)

Of note:
McDaniels was selected for the 2023 Future Basketball Operations Stars program, an NBA initiative preparing the next generation of basketball executives. She supported operations for major league events, including the 2024 NBA Draft and WNBA All-Star Weekend. She is also a published journalist. 

Personal: A Chicago native, McDaniels is passionate about serving others and credits her faith in Christ as the foundation of her purpose and perseverance. She enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, and exploring new restaurants in her free time.
