Assistant Director, Leadership Gifts

Responsibilities:
Keyla is responsible for managing a portfolio of leadership gift prospects for the Hokie Club. She works closely with Athletics and University Advancement leadership, coaches, and staff to develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies in support of Virginia Tech Athletics and the university’s identified fundraising priorities. She is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, with a focus on building long-term relationships and increasing philanthropic support.

Prior to Virginia Tech:
Keyla comes to Blacksburg from the University of Kansas Athletics, where she most recently served as a Graduate Assistant for the Williams Education Fund. In that role, she supported fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives, assisting with donor outreach, event coordination, and strategic communication efforts to strengthen relationships with former student-athletes and supporters.

Prior to her role with Kansas Athletics, Keyla was a student-athlete at the University of Kansas, where she competed on the women’s swimming and diving team. During her time as a student-athlete, she demonstrated leadership, discipline, and a strong commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
