Responsibilities:  Oversees branding efforts for the athletics department, inclusive of the Marketing, Creative Communications, Creative Video and Creative Design units. She is also the Athletics liaison to trademark licensing.  In addition, Whidden has oversight of the Spirit Squads and is the lead marketing contact for Wrestling.

At Virginia Tech: Has previously led marketing efforts for baseball, volleyball and women’s basketball

Prior to Virginia Tech: Served as a marketing assistant at the University of Oregon (2012-13) and served as a marketing associate at Iowa State University (2011-12)

Education: Master of Science – Sport Management University of Florida, 2010; Bachelor of Science – Business Administration University of Florida, 2008

Of Note:  Active member of National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) since 2011

Personal: A native of LaBelle, Fla., JC currently resides in Christiansburg, VA.
