At Virginia Tech: Resident Athletic Trainer with the Virginia Tech Football Team 

Prior to Virginia Tech: James graduated from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Sports Medicine. After graduating, James became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. During his time at Lamar James worked with the LU Football team as well as the Men’s Golf team. He also received his Master of Science in Kinesiology from Lamar University. In the summers of 2017 and 2018 James was a summer intern for the Houston Texans. 

Education: Concord University, 2019 (B.S in Athletic Training with Minor in Sports Medicine), Lamar University, 2021 (M.S in Kinesiology) 

Of Note: James has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association since 2019. He is also a licensed Athletic Trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professions. James was also a 4-year varsity collegiate baseball player at Concord University. 

Personal: James grew up in a military family and has moved all over the world. His wife Kate is also an Athletic Trainer. James now resides in Blacksburg, Virginia.
