Erich Horner

Associate Director of Major Gifts

Responsibilities: Fundraising in the Northern Virginia area to support athletics, fundraising liaison for men’s and women’s tennis as well as baseball. Working towards raising money for the Reach for Excellence Campaign of over $400 million.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2021

Prior to Virginia Tech: Prior to VT, Horner was Associate Director of Development for the Annual Fund at the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation where he managed a portfolio of over 215 donors and played an integral role in generating $26m (2020) and $31m (2021) for student-athlete support. Also managed the 85 Suites and Skyboxes at the Vaught Hemingway Stadium and oversaw the Courtesy Car Program with 30 car dealers who provide vehicles for over 40 coaches/athletic administrators. Got his start at The Gamecock Club at the University of South Carolinas Athletic Department in 2016. Spent 3 years there as the Assistant Director of Membership Services.  

Education: Graduated from NC State in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Sport Management. Graduated from University of South Carolina in 2017 with a Masters in Sport and Entertainment Management.

Personal:  Born in Franklinville, New Jersey but raised in Concord, NC. Currently live in Christiansburg, VA with his wife, Addison, son Colton and two labrador retrievers Chance and Finley.
