At Virginia Tech: Kruse coordinates all sports medicine needs for Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track and field and cross country programs.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Kruse graduated from Central Michigan University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Community Health. After graduating she moved to New Orleans to work with Dillard University’s baseball, track and field, tennis, and women’s basketball programs. She then became the athletic trainer for Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball and track & field, cross country teams. While working at Loyola New Orleans, Destini obtained her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification in 2023 and Master of Science in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2025.

Of Note: She has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2022. She is licensed by the Virginia Board of Health Professions and Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
Personal: Kruse is a native of Morenci, Michigan and currently resides in Blacksburg, Va. She enjoys spending time with her three younger siblings and traveling.
