Prior to Virginia Tech: Tangelo arrived at Virginia Tech following a stint as an assistant coach at the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland in 2024 followed by one season at Troy as a graduate assistant in 2025.
Education: Duke, 2021 (B.S. in Sociology)
Personal: A native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Tangelo was a four-year letterman and three-year starter on the defensive line at Duke (2017-20) where he played 45 games over four seasons, recording 114 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 quarterback sacks, one pass defended, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also spent a graduate season at Penn State in 2021 registering 29 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks, one pass defended, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Tangelo signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent in 2022 and also spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL.
