Brown, a 2017 Virginia Tech graduate, serves as the media contact for women's basketball in addition to the men’s soccer and lacrosse programs and oversees the communications efforts for all of Tech's 22 varsity sports programs.
In his role, he is responsible for press releases, game notes, roster maintenance and answering media requests related to his assigned teams in addition to helping the program' social media channels grow.
In his eight seasons with the women’s basketball program, Brown has promoted and celebrated four WNBA Draft picks, three All-Americans and eight different All-ACC performers. Additionally, he was a part of the program that won the school’s first ACC title (2023), earned a one seed in the NCAA tournament and went to the Final Four (2023) as well as the team that won the ACC regular season title (2023-24).
Brown has also helped promoted the first and only appearance by the lacrosse program in the NCAA tournament (2018) and celebrated two MLS Draft picks in 2017 and 2018.
He has taken advantage of multiple opportunities to be involved with ACC initiatives, including attending the 2024 Spring Meetings as Virginia Tech’s Senior Ethnic Minority Leader (SEML) and taking part in the 2024 ACC Unity Tour in Charleston, South Carolina.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Brown began working in the Strategic Communications department during his senior year of undergraduate work in 2016-17. That year, he helped assist the department with various research projects, as well as inputting statistics and operating the scoreboard at multiple Olympic sports venues. Brown served as the secondary contact for the women's basketball program, compiling information for in-venue programs and live tweeting all home games on the team's official page. In the spring semester he began full-time coverage of the lacrosse program, which he would go on to do for five seasons.
Brown, who served as the men's soccer contact previously is no stranger to Coach Brizendine and the men's soccer program having played on the team for two seasons as a walk-on early in his college career.

Of Note: Brown is an active member of VaSID (Virginia Sports Information Directors) and CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) attending the national conference for the first time in 2018 at the National Harbor in Maryland.
Personal: Born in New London, Connecticut, Brown grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and resides in nearby Christiansburg. In his free time, Brown enjoys staying active, playing golf and recently competing in half marathons. His favorite hobby is watching films, and his favorite directors are Christopher Nolan and Quentin Tarantino.
