Joined Virginia Tech Football Staff:  2021

Prior to Virginia Tech:  Crist began his career as a grad assistant at Virginia Tech in 1994 and returned as an offensive analyst/co-quarterbacks coach for five seasons (2021-25). In between he served a stint at Youngstown State as offensive coordinator (2018-19) and wide receivers coach (2015-17) for the Penguins.

Crist also spent one season as executive director of player personnel/offensive assistant at Nebraska (2014) and served as wide receivers coach at Bridgewater College in 2013. He also served at Louisiana-Lafayette (2002-06) and two separate stints at Massachusetts (1996-01 & 2007-11), helping the Minutemen win an FCS national title in 1998. His most notable pupil at UMass was wide receiver Victor Cruz, who went on to star for the New York Giants.

Education:  Hampden-Sydney, 1994 (B.S. in Economics & Math)

Personal:  A Blacksburg native, Crist and his wife, Amy, have four children, Jackson, Ali, Caroline and Logan.
