Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2018
Prior to Virginia Tech: Billy graduated from Virginia Tech with his Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology (ITMA) while working with the football and tennis teams as a graduate assistant athletic trainer from 2018-2020. Billy attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in exercise sports science and chemistry. While at UNC he worked with the football team as well as women’s basketball, baseball, Garner High School and CASL soccer. In the summer of 2017 Billy worked as an intern for the Arizona Cardinals during training camp.
Education: Virginia Polytechnic and State University, 2020 (Masters of Arts in Education). The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 2018 (B.A., in Exercise and Sports Science with a focus in Athletic Training, B.A. in Chemistry)
Of Note: Billy is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health professionals and the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners. Billy is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Prior to working with the Football team, Billy worked with the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Virginia Tech.
Personal: Billy and his wife Miranda currently reside in Christiansburg, VA.
