Former Washington State standout Aneta Miksovska joined the Hokie coaching staff as an assistant coach in Fall 2019.
The Stramberk, Czech Republic native, finished out her career earning the ITA Cissie Leary Award for the Northwest Region in May. The award is given to the player who displays inspiring dedication and commitment to her team, which has enhanced her team's performance and exemplified the spirit of college tennis.
During her sophomore season (2016-17), Miksovska was named captain of the team. In her career, she was a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection. Miksovska was also selected as one of Washington State's Senior Excellence in Academics Award winners as well as the universities' Steve Gleason Community Service and Leadership Award, given to those who have demonstrated strong citizenship skills and leadership qualities within their team and throughout the athletic department and community.
Over her four seasons in Pullman, Miksovska won 98 singles matches, which ranks fourth in Washington State history. In addition, she tallied 90 career doubles victories. In her final two seasons, Washington State was ranked among the top 45 nationally. In 2018 she helped the Cougars finish ranked No. 42 nationally with a record of 21-7. In 2019, Miksovska helped the Cougars finish the season ranked No. 36, securing an NCAA Tournament appearance. During her freshman season she tallied 31 singles victories, a Washington State freshman record.
In her career she secured key victories to help the Cougars win against three ranked teams, including the clinching match against No. 10 UCLA in 2019. She finished the 2019 season with a record of 24-7 in singles play, a team best. In the final match of her career, Miksovka tallied a three-set win in the NCAA Tournament against Miami.
