Amanda Mozier

Volunteer Assistant Coach

Amanda Mozier joined the Virginia Tech lacrosse staff in July of 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach.  
 
“We are excited to bring Amanda on to the coaching staff here,” Sung said of Mozier. “Obviously when she was at High Point University she was used to winning and has had an opportunity to win championships there and I think that she can bring that experience and a different perspective of things that we can work on for our kids. It’s a great opportunity for growth for her and she is really going to fit in. I have known her for a really long time since she was a high school player and she has worked in college athletics and seen a different side of things and chose to come back to the game which she is excited about.”
 
Mozier, a former student-athlete at High Point played for the Panthers from 2015-19 appearing in 32 games, making 19 starts in the midfield and on the defensive end of the field. For her career, she tallied three goals, 15 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and four draw controls. She served as captain during 2019 season and won three Big South Championships (2017-19), making three NCAA appearances and a Sweet Sixteen run in 2017. Mozier was named the Millis Scholar-Athlete and was regularly on the Dean’s List.
 
"I am really excited to join the Virginia Tech lacrosse support staff and I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with the team and helping the girls reach their full potential as student-athletes,” Mozier said. “I am also grateful to have the privilege of learning from such influential coaches in the lacrosse community, the staff here has cultivated such a strong program and I am proud to say I get to be a part of it."
 
Mozier worked in the Boston University Department of Athletics during the 2019-20 academic year as a development coordinator. Her responsibilities included support of all annual fundraising initiatives, data entry, contact updating and stewardship of high-level donors. She was also responsible for performing office support duties to assist Terrier Athletics Fund staff. 

Prior to joining BU, Mozier served as a development intern with High Point University Athletics, where she managed the men’s and women’s hospitality suites for the Panther Club, assisted with marketing and game day operations, and worked directly with donors and alumni. During her time at HPU, Mozier earned her bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in sport management and additionally obtained her master’s degree in business administration.
 
Mozier has also served as an assistant coach for UpRoar Club Lacrosse in Annapolis, Maryland and Panther's Lacrosse Club in High Point, North Carolina.
