Prior to Virginia Tech: Assistant Athletic Trainer for Emory & Henry College, for 3+ years. Working primarily with football, cross country, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, men’s wrestling, women’s wrestling, and track and field. Was an intern and volunteer athletic trainer for the Phoenix Rising Football Club for the 2017 season and parts of the 2018 season. Received his post-professional athletic training master’s degree from A.T. Still University and his athletic training bachelor’s degree from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Education: King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA: Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training: Graduated in 2016. A.T. Still University, Mesa, AZ: Master’s of Science in Post-Professional Athletic Training: Graduated in 2018
Of Note: Alex holds certifications is Myofascial Decompression level 1, HawkGrips Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization level 1, HawkGrips Blood Flow Restriction Practitioner. He is a member of NATA, VATS and MAATA. He became a certified athletic trainer in 2016. He is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professionals. During his Bachelor’s studies he played college football for 4 years and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors. At A.T. Still University, Alex, was a co-author on a published paper about the use of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization on overhead athletes.
Personal: Alex grew up in State College, PA and currently resides in the Blacksburg, VA area with his dog.
