Bridget Williams (formerly Bridget Guy) was named a volunteer assistant coach for the Virginia Tech track and field programs in September 2020. She assists with the Hokies' pole vaulters. Guy attended the University of Virginia where she competed in the pole vault from 2015-2019. Following graduation, she remained at Virginia to continue training post-collegiately and was a volunteer assistance coach for the Cavaliers' track and field programs during the 2019-2020 season. A native of Greensburg, Pa., Guy set the indoor 4.38m (14’4.5”) and outdoor 4.46m (14’7.5”) school records at Virginia. Guy finished her career at UVA as a three-time All-American and a two-time outdoor ACC individual champion in the pole vault.
During her post-collegiate career in both Charlottesville and Blacksburg, Williams has steadily improved her personal best. She finished 2021 having jumped 4.71m (15’5.5”), which was the 11th highest jump in the world during the outdoor track season.
