Hokie Club2018-19: Competed in the Hokie Open and Wolfpack Open … Went 1-4 in the season.
2017-18: Went 7-10 as a junior … Wrestled at 149 pounds after competing at 141 as a sophomore … Picked up three wins at the Wolfpack Open, including a win by fall in 4:24 over Appalachian State’s Christian Beach and a 7-5 decision over Campbell’s Noah Jacobs … Defeated Duke’s Colten Thomas with a 4-3 decision at the Hokie Open.
2016-17: Made nine starts at 141 pounds … Claimed a 3-1 decision at the Southeast Open … Picked up a 5-2 decision at the Storm Open.
High School: Ryan capped his Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference career with his fourth-straight championship, pinning every opponent he faced at the tournament to improve his undefeated conference record to 32-0, the only wrestler in his high school's history to finish undefeated. During his senior season, he placed second in the 138-pound division at the state meet and earned his second berth at Nationals, finishing his career with a school-record 149 wins.
