Finished second in the indoor shot put with a throw of 52'1.50" (15.88m) at the Virginia Tech Challenge.

High School: Two-time Patriot District, Northern Region and VHSL AAA State champion in the outdoor discus and shot put ... Had a personal best discus throw of 188'3" (57.38m) and outdoor shot put throw of 64'1.50" (19.54m) at the 2003 Arcadia Invitational ... Also district, region and state champion in the indoor shot put ... At the 2003 Microtel Invitational, set best indoor shot put with a mark of 63'7" (19.38m).
