2005-06: Earned All-America honors by placing fourth in the 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships ... Also swam the second leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed 15th at NCAAs ... Became the second Hokie to win an individual Atlantic Coast Conference men's championship with a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly ... Also finished third in the 400-yard individual medley and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle at the ACCs ... Won the 200-yard butterfly against Clemson ... Won the 200-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle at the Maryland Quad ... Won the 200-yard butterfly at NC State ... Won the 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley and the 1,650-yard freestyle at the Nike Cup ... Won the 1,000-yard freestyle at East Carolina ... Won the 1,000-yard freestyle at West Virginia ... Won the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly against Pittsburgh.

2004-05: Finished 21st at the NCAA Championships in the 200-yard butterfly ... Broke the school record with his fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at the ACC Championships ... Placed fourth at the same meet in the 100-yard backstroke ... Was on the third-place 800-yard freestyle relay team and the fourth-place 200-yard medley relay team at the ACCs ... Won the 100-yard butterfly, 400- and 800-yard freestyle at the College of Charleston meet ... Won the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard butterfly at the Nike Cup ... Holds six Virginia Tech individual school records.

2003-04: Participated in every meet ... Garnered seven top three finishes at the BIG EAST Championships, including four wins ... Placed 18th in 400-yard freestyle at the NCAAs and 12th in the 200-yard butterfly ... Qualified for 2004 Short Course World Championships in the 400-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly ... Fell just short of qualifying for the Brazilian Olympic team.

High School: Attended Centro Educaional da Lago ... Was the 1999 and 2000 South America Games member of the National Team ... Placed second in the 200-, 400- and 1,500-meter freestyle at both championships ... Was the YMCA national champion in the 200-yard freestyle in both 2002 and 2003 ... Trained in Roanoke for the past two years, setting a national record when he won the 200-meter butterfly at the YMCA Long Course Championships ... Trained with the Virginia Gators club team while taking classes at Virginia Western Community College.
