Skinner on Harkins: "Scott could be our No. 1 breaststroker this year and one of our top distance swimmers and top IMers. He has a lot of range and very good mechanics and is naturally strong."

2006-07: Won the bonus consolation final in the 100-yard breaststroke at the ACC Championships ... Also finished 19th in the 400 IM and 21st in the 200 breaststroke ... Made a strong showing at the Nike Cup ... Took sixth in the 400 IM, eighth in the 200 breaststroke, 13th in the 100 breaststroke and 17th in the 200 IM.

High School: A member of the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins swim club ... Qualifed for Junior Nationals as a junior and senior ... Earned all-district and all-state all four years at high school ... Won first state championship came as a junior in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while the second came as a senior in the 200 IM ... Placed first in the 5k National Open Water Swim ... Captain of high school team as a senior.
