Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE – After an impressive collegiate debut, Brenda Jeptoo earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Jeptoo finished second in the women’s 6K at The Fire Tower Project on Oct. 2, clocking a time of 20:31.8 to finish just behind teammate Jule Lindner.
Her performance helped the Hokies secure the team title with 15 points, tying their best score of the season, set previously at the Hokie Invitational, and marked the first podium finish of her collegiate career.
The honor marks the first individual ACC award of Jeptoo’s young career and the fourth for Tech this cross country season.
