SALEM, Va. — Virginia Tech Cross Country took on the East Coast Elite Fast Times Invitational on Oct. 3, with the women sweeping the podium and Carter Johnson earning first place in the men's 8K.
Competing unattached, Nicole Dunbury led the pack in the women's 5K, finishing first in 17:24.3, and Sharon Chepchirchir followed for second place with a 17:53.8. To round out the top three, Kasey Dingman crossed the line in 18:07.4 for the first podium finish of her collegiate career.
For the men, Carter Johnson grabbed the first podium finish of his college career with a 25:48.0 and first place in the 8K.
