Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE — After breakout performances in Virginia Tech Cross Country’s season opener at Buford Meredith Cross Country Course, Roan Kelly earned ACC Performer of the Week, and Robert Leonard earned ACC Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Kelly took first place at the VT Invitational in the 6k with an 18:11.6, following up a successful 2026 outdoor track and field season in the 800m, where he took fifth place in the ACC Outdoor Championships and qualified for the NCAA East Regional.
In his Hokie debut, Leonard stood out by taking second place in the 6k and setting a new personal best with a 18:12.8. He picks up where he left off in his 2025 high school cross country season, in which he took sixth place at the Virginia State XC Championships.
