Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech running back Jeffrey Overton, Jr. has been named ACC Running Back of the Week for his efforts in a 21-14 win over Boston College. Overton rushed for a career-high 209 yards and a touchdown, a 76-yard gallop which proved to be the game-winning score in the fourth quarter. It was the sixth largest single-game rushing total on record at Virginia Tech.
The sophomore from Woodbridge, Virginia also registered three receptions for 19 yards.
Overton now has five touchdowns this season, four rushing, and one receiving. He is the second-leading rusher in the ACC, averaging 102.3 yards per game.
