Since arriving in Blacksburg, I have heard your expectations for Virginia Tech Athletics loud and clear. 
 
You want to win. 
 
You want to compete for championships. You want us recruiting, developing and retaining elite student-athletes. You want a best-in-class gameday experience. And you want Virginia Tech among the very best in college athletics.
 
So do I. 
 
That shared ambition is one of the reasons I came to Virginia Tech. There is tremendous pride in our past, extraordinary passion for the Hokies and a powerful belief in what we can build together. 
 
This is Home. 
 
Our vision is ambitious: Virginia Tech Athletics will operate with a top-10 mentality. Success will not always come in a straight line, but our standard will remain the same — pursue championships, invest strategically and provide our student-athletes and coaches with the resources to compete at the highest level. 
 
A top-10 mentality requires top-10 resources. And top-10 resources require a financial model built to support them. 
 
Our university leadership and Board of Visitors have already invested boldly in our future. Now, we are doubling down across Virginia Tech Athletics. 
 
Our ambition is not simply to keep pace. We are benchmarking ourselves against the programs competing for championships nationally. If that is where we expect to compete, we must build the resources to match. 
 
Hokie Nation has helped build the foundation we stand on today. As we ask more of you, you should expect more from us, and we embrace that responsibility.
