Hokie ClubDURHAM, N.C. — The Hokies finish play at the Rod Myers Invitational after the tournament was ended one round short due to inclement weather. The two-round event was hosted by Duke University Golf Club (par 72, 7,154 yards). Tech finished in 13th place, carding a 587 (290-297).
Ben Baker led the team, carding a 1-over 145 (72-73). Ashton Harper finished with a 2-over 146 (72-74) for the Hokies as well.
UNC Greensboro took home the team title with a 20-under 556 (278-278). The Spartans shot two of the best rounds of the tournament, firing 10-under both days. George Mason’s Vijay Powell (68-66) won the individual title with a 134.
The Hokies will be back on the road for the Testudo Cup in Ijamsville, Md. The tournament will be hosted by Maryland starting October 5th.
