Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech tight end Luke Reynolds has been named the John Mackey Award Player of the Week following his standout performance in a 35-26 win over Maryland.
Reynolds tallied 12 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Terps. The performance marked his second consecutive game with more than 100 receiving yards, making him the first tight end in Virginia Tech history to record back-to-back 100-yard receiving games.
The John Mackey Award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight end. Reynolds is among the nation's top performers at the position through the opening weeks of the 2026 season.
Through the first three games of the season, Reynolds leads Power Four tight ends in receptions (25), yards (265), and TDs (4).
The honor marks another national accolade for Reynolds, who has quickly established himself as one of the focal points of the Virginia Tech offense.
