Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE – Dylan DeCambre has been named ACC Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, following his winning performance at the Hokie Invitational.
DeCambre bounced back from a sixth-place finish in the 6K at the VT Invitational, winning the Hokie Invitational 8K in 24:23.5.With a final sprint to the finish, he edged teammate Roan Kelly by three-tenths of a second to claim the individual victory.
Last season, DeCambre saw plenty of success in indoor and outdoor track, being a part of the DMR team, which set the third-fastest mark in NCAA history and took third place at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning bronze at the ACC Indoor Championships for the 800m, and running a personal best 1:46.79 at NCAA Regionals in the 800m, the fifth-fastest time in program history.
The honor marks his first individual ACC Performer of the Week award in cross country.
